About Us
Educated Warrior is a small company and our purpose is to share some of the excellence that we have been exposed to in four decades of martial arts training.
The Educated Warrior was born out of a training session when a gifted young fighter was having difficulty hitting vulnerable areas. He could have chopped a tree down with his body shots, but he was wasting them, either hitting elbows and arms or too low in the abdomen to have an effect. After getting my five-year-old son to help colour in an old training bib, we were able to increase the fighter’s capability within a single hour of training. Instead of punching an elbow he switched to a shovel hook and hit the solar plexus. He was able to draw the elbow away to expose the liver shot and was able to protect his own vital areas more effectively. It was ‘Simple Simon’, but for striking. He went home happy and I went home sore. I’m sure there is a lesson in that somewhere.
The SYSTEM
The simple training bib became the Educated Warrior Accelerated Striking system because this is a transferable skill, at any level. Learn to do it early and you will do it for the rest of your martial arts training and fighting lifetime.
